Tyrella has been a fixture in the true crime space since 2017, but her "education" started much earlier. While other kids were watching cartoons, Tyrella was logging serious hours on the couch with her dad and the OG episodes of Cold Case Files. She still considers host Bill Kurtis her "third husband," though she’s currently happily married to her first husband and raising two boys who keep her just as busy as a high-profile trial.

With over eight years of deep-diving into mutliple cases per week, Tyrella has undergone a total deconstruction of the genre. She’s traded her early "if they confessed, they’re guilty" naivety for a healthy dose of skepticism and a mission to turn every listener into a savvy juror.

Despite being the Chief Counsel of Bird Law (a title she holds with the same illiterate-yet-confident energy as Charlie Kelly), Tyrella leaves the actual legal heavy lifting to her partner. And while she didn't technically graduate college—mostly because she fell down once and decided that was enough of that—she has spent nearly a decade becoming a highly literate commentator on systemic failures and media framing.

When she isn’t deconstructing the justice system, you can find her at home with her family and her pupper (who is, for the record, a very good boy). She’s here to remind you that in every case, there is always more to the story.

MEET TYRELLA

Nikita is the co-host of This Feels Criminal, where she’s known for her deep Southern drawl, sharp instincts, and the uncanny ability to spot when something doesn’t quite add up. While her partner is busy practicing "Bird Law," Nikita is actually a practicing attorney—meaning she brings the kind of legal literacy to the show that can’t be learned from an Always Sunny marathon.

Blending her background as an attorney with a highly conversational style, Nikita makes complex legal hurdles feel accessible, engaging, and worth a deeper look. She’s especially drawn to stories involving cults, corruption, and the inner workings of the justice system, centering every case on curiosity, nuance, and just enough skepticism to keep things interesting.

Outside the mic, Nikita is married to her high school sweetheart and is a mom to two awesome kids. In the limited free time that comes with that, she’s usually reading or watching objectively terrible reality TV with her husband—proving that even a sharp legal mind needs a little "trash TV" to unwind.
